“Colonization is still going on and this prevents us from sitting around the same fire. Perhaps in our best possible future, you can see a beautiful big fire burning in a clearing in the wilderness, and everyone has a place at that great fire, everybody feels welcome, everyone belongs.” — Tanja Meyburgh

Biography

Tanja Meyburgh is an esteemed psychologist, trainer, and supervisor specializing in transgenerational healing and Family Constellations, with more than two decades of experience in the field. Since 2003, she has been a prominent contributor to international conferences, training programs, and publications. Author of Reclaiming Ancestors, Tanja shares a deeply personal and collective journey of rediscovering ancestral wisdom and its connection to transgenerational systemic work rooted in Southern African traditional lineage practices. Her writing offers a powerful reflection on our lost harmony with nature and ancestral wisdom, guiding readers toward reconnection with their own lineage and heritage. Holding an MA in Narrative Therapy, Tanja’s work is informed by her commitment to examining power dynamics and amplifying the voices of marginalized communities. She is widely recognized for integrating land, embodiment, and collective consciousness into her systemic practice. A traditional healer, Tanja completed a 14-year journey to become an initiated Igedla doctor in the Venda lineage. Through her teachings and guidance, she helps participants nourish their spirits, ground their bodies, and open channels of ancestral connection—creating a sacred and experiential learning space rooted in psychological insight, spiritual integrity, and deep reverence for life.
